McDaniel College and Carroll County have long had a great relationship. One way this relationship is expressed is through the Common Ground on the Hill concert series. This series has always been one of the best concerts in all of Carroll County, and this year’s is shaping up to be one of the best ever.

A Great Festival

The festival will be on July 13, 2019. Music will be provided by a whole host of local Carroll County bands, including:

Tickets for the festival are:

  • Regular adult: $30
  • Senior 65+ and Teens 13-18: $25
  • Child 6-12: $10 with a ticketed adult
  • Child under 5: free with ticketed adult

Carroll County Public School Staff & Students get in free with ID. There are reduced rates for adult family members accompanying any CCPS staff and students. CCPS rates are available at the gate only.

What Should You Bring to the Festival?

If you’ve never been to the festival, then you may be wondering what you should bring. Luckily for you there are a list of items you should bring, and a list of items you shouldn’t.

Do bring:

  • Low-back lawn or beach chairs
  • Blankets
  • Sun screen
  • Sunglasses
  • Umbrellas and sun tents (assuming they don’t obstruct anyone’s view)

Do Not Bring:

  • Food
  • Drinks
  • Bottles/glasses
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Drugs
  • Pets
  • Coolers
  • Professional audio or video recording equipment, or cameras with telephoto lenses/tripods

Come Out Camping

If you’d like to enhance your festival experience, why not come out and camp! There will be camping spots available at the Carroll County Farm Museum. Camping is $25 per camping unit (either a tent or a camper) per night. To reserve a camping spot, contact Dana Wachter at

The Wine and Beer Garden

The Wine and Beer Garden will be serving up drinks to anyone over the age of 21. They will be located just past the Farmhouse and the Pavilion Stage, and all beverages must be consumed within the Garden. Drinks will be made available courtesy of Pub Dog.
