It’s only November, but a lot of people are already thinking about Christmas. Growing up, we always put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but it does feel like Christmas is getting earlier and earlier every year.
The Church of Ascension is putting on a three-day craft fair on November 8th, 9th, and 10th to ring in the holiday season. Admission is $5 and children under 12 will be granted free entry. It’s almost time for the 2018 Mistletoe Mart!
What Will You Find at the Fair?
At the event, there will be 51 juried artisans and crafts people. If you aren’t familiar, “juried” artists are people that have had their work evaluated and critiqued. That means that all of the crafts people you will find at the Mistletoe Mart are truly the cream of the crop. They’re seasoned artists.
There will be a long list of vendors at the event. You can check those out here. As you look through the vendors on the list, you’ll find a seriously wide variety of goods. They have forged iron, wooden creations, dog collars, jewelry, gourd art, buttermould patterns, candles, clothing, and everything in between.
Along with all of the potential gifts, you will also find a cafe that will serve both lunch and dinner, a bake shop, and the Angel Room where children can make crafts.
There are also hourly door prizes provided by the artisans at the fair, which is pretty cool. There’s a lot to do and plenty to see. Besides, if you’re looking for a cool holiday gift, you’ll probably find one.
Craft Fairs for Christmas
There are plenty of craft fairs around the state that will provide you with the options you need for all of your Christmas shopping needs.
The Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be hosting a Christmas-themed market from the first Saturday in November through the Saturday before Christmas.
Sykesville will be hosting the Sykesville Holiday Marketplace on the 24th of November this year. They’re boasting over 180 “carefully selected” vendors. Oh, and Santa will be there!
The Blackwell Wood Farm will also be hosting a big Christmas event with plenty of holiday cheer and animals to pet while you visit. There will also be crafts, of course. Don you want a kiss from Fred?
Yeah, we do too. No matter where you go this holiday season, you’re sure to find warm wishes and good vibes throughout Carroll County.
