The Carroll County Agricultural Center is a hub bustling with activity right here in Westminster, Maryland. Through their events they are able to spread awareness and understanding of the essential agricultural practices that serve as the center of support for the region.
Let’s find out what they’ve got going on!
Give Your Dogs a Chance to Succeed
There are two different classes for dog owners everywhere to learn the best ways to train their pups. The Dog Owner’s Training Club of Maryland is the second oldest dog training club in the United States. They offer AKC Canine Good Citizen training as well as basic and advanced classes. They meet on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
The Carroll Kennel Club Dog Classes also meet on Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Though the classes are usually free, there are events that can cost a small fee from time to time. Along with educational classes, they also host agility trials and conformation shows for those of you who have purebred pooches.

We are incredibly grateful to have such a giving group of supporters to help us when animals like Claude come into our care. Thank you to everyone who donated, sent gifts and shared his story. We hope that What happened to Claude will help start a bigger conversation about the trauma, dangers and health problems associated with cosmetic ear removal. Today, Claude visited our shelter to get a post-surgery checkup on his ears. He is already feeling worlds better and starting to act more and more like a normal puppy. His foster mom reports that he is a snuggle bug who loves and trusts everyone he meets. Dogs have such an amazing ability to forgive. It was humans that hurt and abused Claude, yet he immediately put his trust in humans to also save him. They are such beautiful creatures, and we are lucky to have them as part of our families.
Carroll County Ag Center Corn Maze
Starting on October 5th and running through November 11th, there will be a corn maze right here at the Carroll County Ag Center! The corn maze will be available to check out Fridays from 6-10pm, Saturday from 2pm-10pm, and Sundays from 12pm-5pm.
Tickets for the corn made are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Children from 3 to 12 are free. There’s just nothing like a corn maze in Autumn.
4H Events, Tractor Pulls, and More!
The events we’ve discussed are truly only the tip of the Carroll County Ag Center iceberg. As a premier venue in Westminster, there are a ton of events that occur throughout the year. The Buck Wild Truck & Tractor Pull has been announced on the CC Ag Center website with more details to come! There is also a 4H & FFA Fair in late July of each year where you can see livestock shows, eat some awesome food, and enjoy some cool exhibits.
In the meantime, check out this really cool chicken.
