We all love America. We love the freedoms and liberties we enjoy. We love the fresh air we breathe, our rule of law, and watching our children grow up. What makes all of this possible?
The many sacrifices of our veterans.
Gold Star Families
What is a Gold Star?
A Gold Star family is one who has lost a loved one in the line of duty. Whether they have lost a spouse, parent, or a sibling, we all recognize their loss with a Gold Star.
Gold Star families and survivors are honored across America, and are given respect. A respect Gold Star Legacy tries to promote.
What is Gold Star Legacy?
Gold Star Legacy is a program hosted by MarineParents, whose goal is to “honor the legacy of fallen heroes, support the missions and needs of their families, and raise awareness for Gold Star Family Day.”
This September 30th, they will be hosting their Luminary Initiative day, in recognition of Gold Star Family Day.
The aim of the initiative is to show reverence for our fallen heroes, show respect for Gold Star Families, and to celebrate community.
Carroll County will be participating.
Celebrating Gold Star Families in Carroll County
Carroll Hospice, located at 292 Stoner Avenue
Westminster, MD 21157, will be participating in the Luminary Initiative day.
The hospice center has a program, We Honor Veterans, and they recognize Gold Star Families.
To show their respect, the hospice center will be displaying paper bags with gold stars on them, some with the names of fallen heroes, all around their memorial sidewalk.
Come out and support our nation’s fallen heroes.
