Cascade Lake

Here in Carroll County, we may not be as close to the beach as we would like but we’ve got the next best thing – lakes! Cascade Lake is Carroll County’s premier waterpark. Visitors from all over Maryland make the trip out to Hampstead to enjoy all of the amenities this beautiful park has to offer.

Cascade Lake spans about 6 acres and sits among 40 acres of wooded areas and rolling hills. The lake is spring fed and has a smooth, sandy bottom.

Features

Pavilions

There are 5 pavilions throughout the park. Three of the pavilions (known as Grove, Lakeside, and Sunrise) are ideal for anywhere from 50-100 people, while the other two (known as Millrace and Cypress) can host very large groups of up to 400 people. Every pavilion is equipped with picnic tables, grills, and electrical outlets. Use of these pavilions is no additional charge to the daily rate. Reserving a pavilion makes you eligible for savings on per-person park rates and boat rentals.

Cascade Café

You don’t have to worry about packing a lunch when you visit Cascade Lake – the park has its own café with a variety of reasonably priced foods and refreshing drinks to choose from:

  • Hot Dogs
  • Hamburgers
  • Soft Pretzels
  • Corn Dogs
  • Taquitos
  • Nachos
  • Popcorn
  • Chicken Nuggets
  • Soda
  • Gatorade
  • Water

If you’re hungry for a sweet treat, they even have fried Oreos for $1 each!

The Lake

The lake itself offers plenty of summer fun with a small beach, water slides, and numerous diving platforms. Two of the slides are small and located in the shallow part of the lake while a larger slide is located a bit further from shore. The lake is roped off into two areas to prevent younger children or those who do not know how to swim from floating out into the deeper parts of the lake. Paddle boats are available for rental and the park has bathrooms and a showering area for getting cleaned up after a long day of enjoying the lake.

Spray N Play

Not a swimmer? Not to worry, Cascade Lake has something for everyone! The Spray N Play park has falling water, water cannons, spray tunnels, and geysers for both kids and adults looking to cool off outside of the lake. It’s also great for parents to take young children who haven’t learned to swim but still want enjoy the water park.
