MAGIC! Inc. has continued to work towards creating a technology space in Carroll County. They want to realize the economic potential of the tech industry in the county and tap into the pool of driven students here. The 2nd Annual Carroll County Hackathon is their next exciting event on the weekend of February, 23rd.
What is the Hackathon?
The Carroll County Hackathon is an annual event in which students are able to create teams, work together, and, ultimately develop an application. The event is considered a beginner level app development competition. There is no experience necessary to participate. The only thing you need is a driven team of students!
Students spend the weekend deciding on a problem and creating a solution to that problem. The solution is then showcased in the format of an application. Over the weekend the students learn how to develop an app and apply that knowledge to the project they are working on. This app development is then paired with marketing and pitch skills in the final competition. The students then pitch their app to a panel of judges and get feedback on what they have done.
