Hashawha environmental Center and Bear Branch Nature Center are hosting its 31st annual Maple Sugarin’ Festival and Pancake Breakfast this coming March. Part of the festival includes the 1st annual Maple Chili Cook-Off.
The 31st annual Maple Sugarin’ Festival and Pancake Breakfast will be hosted at Hashawha Environmental Center at 300 John Owings Rd. in Westminster, MD 21158 on March 5, 2017. The parking fee will be $5 per vehicle and the festival will run from 10:30am to 3:00pm. So be sure you get there early and carpool to get the most value out of your day!
To enter to participate in the Maple Chili Cook-Off, participants must mail in their contestant registration form to Hashawha Environmental Center by February 10th, 2017. The entry fee is $30 + a $15 health department permit fee. The winning contestant goes home with the grand prize of $150 and bragging rights.
In addition to the Maple Chili Cook-Off, this year’s Maple Sugarin’ Festival also includes many other family friendly events. There will be a huge pancake breakfast where plates are $4 a piece, maple tree tapping and sap boiling, blacksmith guild demonstrations, face painting, and other various crafts and activities.
