Carroll County Public Library will be hosting a touring virtual reality roadshow starting this week and going into February.

Have you heard the hype surrounding the new virtual reality headsets? If you’re not “in the know” virtual reality is essentially a video game where you have goggles on that fully submerse you in the game. If you look left, you will look left in the game and all you will hear is what is going on in the virtual game. So by definition, virtual reality gets as close as possible to replacing your reality with a virtual one.

If you’ve always wanted to try out virtual reality, the Carroll County Public Library will be dong a virtual reality roadshow starting this month all the way through February. Here is the schedule for when Carroll County Public Library’s new Vive virtual reality headset is at your local branch:

  • Mount Airy Branch — Tuesday, January 17th from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Taneytown Branch — Tuesday, January 24th from 10 am to 5 pm
  • Finksburg Branch — Thursday, February 2nd from 1 pm to 7 pm
  • Westminster Branch — Wednesday, February 8th from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Eldersburg Branch — Wednesday, February 15th from 1 pm to 7 pm
  • North Carroll Branch — Tuesday, February 21st from 10 am to 7 pm
