Looking for a local event to attend in Carroll County during the week? Check out the McDaniel Department of Art and Art History’s Eighth Biennial Faculty Art Exhibition which is wrapping up it’s final week. The exhibit started November 22nd and will run up through Friday, December 16th. The Exhibit features some inspiring works of art created by McDaniel’s own faculty from the Department of Art and Art History.
The exhibit covers a wide array of styles and mediums including, “paintings by Steven Pearson, photography by Walter Calahan, video documentation and an exhibition catalogue by Izabel Galliera, ceramics by Ken Hankins, intermedia and digital art by Chloe Irla, Chinese screens by Susan Scott, and jewelry by Linda Van Hart.” (McDaniel, 2016)
Keeping with tradition, this exhibit runs biennially and only features works from the faculty itself. Other art exhibits run throughout the year at The Rice Gallery featuring works of art from other artists and varying themes.
If you wish to attend the exhibit, it is located in The Rice Gallery within Peterson Hall on McDaniel’s campus. The address of the campus is 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157. For a map of the campus itself, you can find one on their website here. The exhibit will be open only from 12:00pm to 4:00pm Monday-Friday, and will close down this Friday. Don’t worry about paying to enter, this local Carroll County event is open for free to the public.
